1° day PARIS – FONTAINEBLEAU

Welcome to Paris! Transfer to the hotel in Fontainebleau. In the evening, meet your travel director of the tour. Dinner and overnight.

2° day FONTAINEBLEAU – GIVERNY – ROUEN

Hotel breakfast. In the morning, start with the guided tour of the Fontainebleau castle, grand royal residence in the Renaissance style, surrounded by splendid gardens. Fontainebleau castle was a favorite residence of the kings of France and Napoleon Bonaparte who solemnly named it “the first imperial residence”. He abdicated his throne there before being exiled in 1814. It is listed as the UNESCO World heritage site. Later in the morning, continue to Normandy. Lunch at your leisure along the way. In the early afternoon, arrival to Giverny, a small village on the shore of the river Seine. Famous painter Claude Monet use to live here. Visit Monet’s house with beautiful garden rich with flowers and colors surrounding it. See the Garden of the Nymphes, known also as water garden, with Japanese bridges, the pond with the water lilies, the wisterias and the azaleas, which were often motives of many famous paintings of the brilliant artist. Continue to Rouen, the capital of the Upper Normandy region. Formerly one of the largest and most prosperous cities of medieval Europe, Rouen was the seat of the Gothic and Renaissance French. Guided tour of the Notre-Dame cathedral with Monet’s paintings. In the historical city center, see the important buildings like the “Palais of Justice” dating from 15th century, half-timbered houses with flowering balconies and the churches Saint-Ouen and Saint-Maclou. In the evening hotel check-in, dinner and overnight

3° day ROUEN – ÉTRETAT – HONFLEUR – DEAUVILLE – CAEN

Hotel breakfast. This day is dedicated to visiting the Côte d'Albâtre (the Alabaster Coast) overlooking the English Channel with cliffs carved into the limestone and sculpted by wind, water and bad weather, a real natural monument. Stop at Étretat and take some time for a walk on Aval cliff, the most visited place on the coast. The changes of the color of the rock and the brightness of the place, attracted many impressionist painters including the Monet himself. Across the famous Normandy Bridge, a cable-stayed road bridge between two peers, that spans the river Seine linking Le Havre to Honfleur, small port on the Atlantic which had inspired many authors and artists since 18th century. Lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, visit the Sainte Catherine church with wooden interior, constructed in 15th century. Continue to the Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast) and, the twin beach towns Deauville and Trouville divided by the River Touques. Later in the afternoon or evening, visit the cider distillery, typical Normandy drink. Continue to Caen. Hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

4° day CAEN – ARROMANCHES – D-DAY LANDING BEACHES – BAYEUX – CAEN

Hotel breakfast. This day is mostly dedicated to the guided visit of D-day landing beaches, the largest seaborne invasion in history. The Allied troops, British, American, Canadian and more, landed on Normandy’s beaches on 6th June 1944 to begin the liberation of Europe from years of Nazi occupation. In the Arromanches at the low tide, you can see the remains of artificial Mulberry port known also as Port Winston that was built in one day by British troops. Visit the D-day Museum in Arromanches where you can see the setting up of the Mulberry Harbour via models and displays. There are also powerful videos to view. Continue to Omaha Beach where the Allied troops landed and visit the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, which will help, you understand the performance of those dramatic events that imprinted a new path in the history of Europe. Lunch is at your leisure and continue to Pointe du Hoc, the cliff where American Rangers succeed in capturing the Nazi stations. The last stop is a visit to a Bayeux Tapestry. Bayeux Tapestry or the Tapestry of the Queen Matilda, is an embroidered cloth nearly 70 meters (230 ft) long and 50 cm (20 in) tall, which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Evening arrival to hotel in Caen. Dinner at your leisure and overnight.

5° day CEAN – MONT SAINT MICHEL – PARIS

Hotel breakfast and departure for Mont Saint Michel, magnificent Benedictine monastery that is located on a rocky island in the middle of an open bay, invaded by the highest tides in Europe. No wonder the Mont Saint Michel is called the “Wonder of the Western World”. Mont Saint-Michel and its bay are on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Lunch at your leisure and time at disposal. In the afternoon, departure for Paris. Hotel check-in, dinner at your leisure. Overnight.

6° day PARIS

Hotel breakfast. Transfer to the airport in time for your flight. End of services.
